Have to say... the looks are not doing it for me

I played one of these in a local music shop and the one I tried matches very closely with your thoughts, Baz. Playability was great, sound was really excellent for the price - easily going toe-to-toe with the usual suspects at this price point. They had a whole range of Freshman ukes and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. I've had a Freshman guitar in the past which was similarly excellent at the price.

The comfort edge or, specifically, the looks of it really put me off this one though! Partly that's due to my left handedness, so the comfort edge is useless to me, but partly it's because it's a bloody ukulele - hardly the most massive of things to tuck under your arm.

I have to agree Jim. I’ve had a few similar comments from others re Freshman - great sound and play, but some questionable looks.

Only minor tweaks could turn this into a terrific uke for the price.
