I want to try a solid metal body resonator. I see that sound Smith and some Chinese brands (sound Smith is made in China from what I can tell) sell all metal body ukuleles.

I recently tried a few wood resonators and they did not sound as bell like at the 12th fret as I was expecting and the resonance kind of dulled off. These were $2k+ Resonators.

Any opinions/experiences on all metal body resonators?

Not rare per se, but not all that common. I think you'll get a better response if you put this in Uke Talk vs. the Marketplace. BTW, I have a used National resonator that I'm selling. PM me if you're interested.

I recently got a 2005 National Resophonic "Vintage Steel" concert. The body is steel rather than brass. I have it tuned up to D and it rings like a bell. Super loud, but with a great tone. It's my first resonator uke and my new favorite.
