mainly because of the fretboard Pete, and the way the fret ends are finished. Also looks like the fretboard at the 16/17/18 frets is not as flat on the edge. This is not that bad, but I don't think you would allow one to go out that way.The other of course is faux bound(I can't think of the correct term).

Nicely observed. My CNC is programmed to cut 'pocket frets'. So much less hassle than fingerboard binding.
