"Thinning the Herd" - Better Term?

Like most people I have a small bunch of them.

I thought a word starting with U would be good and so far what I came up with is a unit of ukuleles, like a unit in the military. Does trimming the unit work?

8 tenor cutaway ukes, 3 acoustic bass ukes, 8 solid body bass ukes, 7 mini electric bass guitars

• Donate to The Ukulele Kids Club, they provide ukuleles to children's hospital music therapy programs. http://www.theukc.org

I guess a lot of people hold their ukes to their chest, so maybe a 'clutch of ukes'. :)

I don't like a 'strum of ukes' - because I'm a 'picker of melodies'. :p

But in my case, it's a couple of 'crates of ukes'.

Collection is as near perfect as we will get, as whilst most of us play uke, we normally have more than just one, & we can't play them all at the same time. :music:

I like that. I'll vote for a "strum" of ukuleles. If you are selling some of them would you say that you have plucked a few from the strum that you would like to sell?

Yes, I would do that after I "pick" the ones I want to sell. : )

An ensemble? A cacaphony? A googol? A skyscraper? An ensemble? A quartet, quintet, sextet, septet, octet, nonet or dectet depending on the precise number?

though some might not consider them as such: an extravagance of ukuleles.

for some of us, who find that UAS is very much an automatic process: an accretion of ukuleles

If you are "plucking" just a few, wouldn't that larger amount be a "pluckthora"? ;)
