A fellow member asked which online courses we like. I wrote a long reply, with links to several courses I like as well as links to courses on youtube.com (there were ~8 links). When I tried to submit my reply the word "Forbidden" appeared. When I selected the Back button, my message was lost! Yuck!

What causes a message to be Forbidden? I could write it without the http, or without links, or by otherwise hiding the URLs, but I was trying to make it easy for readers to be able to jump to the course/lesson I was describing.

I found if I used the code, bracket URL bracket, it would not go through. I discovered instead of writing my post in the Quick Reply window, I first clicked the Go Advanced button in the lower right, then type my post there, it always lets it through.

That fixed it. Thanks! I removed the codes and used the URLs with the http:// prefix. That resulted in the links appearing in the post without being forbidden.

... they can do the work themselves. ... I don't think spoon feeding links and videos is the best way to go ...

To each his own. Hearing other opinions is part of my research. I also think companies/people that provide exceptional products in a crowded market should be recognized.

I find the details of the "spam filter" to be hard to decipher. I've had short messages with a link get rejected, add another line or two (still with the link) and have it go through. Also had longer messages rejected as you mention.
