One thing led to another last week & a half... I somehow ordered four ukuleles. Make that five as of last night. Not a zillionaire. Timing, opportunity (a very very fair one) & life just aligned.
This is the 2nd one to arrive. 2nd uke ever.

For my 1st "real" uke, I wanted a high quality uke that had lived some, perhaps around my age, definitely was uninterested in a "newborn".
The Kamaka Soprano White Label was better looking in person than online. Very playable (if I could play) even if described as having a repaired crack. The photos in the ad didn't have the highest resolution, I wanted to see it in person & thanks to a reasonable return policy, I did.

It was difficult to see details, even in person, since the my mailbox shop didn't have "perfect" lighting. I didn't see a repaired crack but I did see a (potentially 2nd?) unrepaired crack. I had planned to take it to the local shop immediately after the mailbox anyway, so expert eyes could get a better look, inside & out. So I stuck it in my larger dog's car crate & away we went.

Shop luthier looked at the Special K Uke, inside & out. Repair seemed very reasonable, both in how easily it could be done as well as cost. Repair appointments were booking 3-6 weeks out.
Since it came from a place where humidity is currently 28% & had lived there for who knows how long, it needed rehydration therapy prior to repair, so waiting for repair was no problem.
