I am the proud owner of two Series 3 Kinnard ukuleles. To my mind they are the perfect combination of aesthetics, playability and tone. Thanks to Kevin Beddoe, who is instrumental (excuse the pun) in helping potential customers find their dream ukuleles!

The first is Redwood/Maple
The second is Cedar/Makore
They are the same size (doesn’t look like it from the pictures)

Agreed 110%! I have owned two sopranos, a Series 3 baritone and still have a Series 3 tenor. And I've played more than three dozen Kinnards. They are remarkably consistent in their excellence across tone, playability, aesthetics and build detail perfection. I've seen other builders gush over the precision of John's work.

My Series 3 tenor has a rather unique voice, with amazing clarity and balance across the entire fretboard:

There is a lovely new Series 2 concert Kevin just posted for sale on FMM. Somebody should grab it!

And it is the same Makore as my tenor.
Makore is like mahogany, but denser, with a better resonance and clarity to the "tap tone". With the Cedar top is is killer, both bright and lush at the same time.

DARN! That was fast! I thought only Moon Bird tenors went that fast!

I agree, Kinnard Ukuleles are excellent and Kevin is great to deal with. I have a sycamore tenor and walnut concert with a Kiku being built.

That concert sold already, but Kevin just posted on FMM a Series 2 spruce/sycamore tenor!

2 tenors are currently listed. Good thing for my bank account that I don't play tenors, or I'd be buying one. I love my Kinnard concert. Best ukulele I've had the good fortune to play.

John's tenors are great. I you sit an perform for an hour or so, you really get to appreciate the comfort and ease that his ukuleles provide. Whether you have an installed pickup or a clip on mic., they do great!
