Just received a new-to-me Gary Creed "Creedy" Spruce & Black Walnut baritone built by Gary Creed. It has an exceptionally clear and even voice, with some nice depth and resonance. The tone and volume are really outstanding (10/10). The neck has gorgeous curly maple and black walnut boards. This came with a nice passive pickup and has a good Tru-oil finish.

The baritone is well made, very smooth neck and body. But it's not a perfect build (9/10), hand made by a craftsman. The neck is a bit on the thick side but has a comfortable flat-ish profile.

For the prices Gary charges, his ukes are a bargain. I'd definitely recommend his instruments based on this uke. You can find more info about his instruments on facebook, look for CREED,s Work Shop.

Here's an initial sound sample in baritone tuning a step down (C# instead D).

This is a really impressive looking baritone, Hodge. The sound is very rich I think. And I always enjoy hearing about luthier work I'm not familiar with. Best to you.

Hodge, you're like a forward scout for us all. Always trying new builders. We appreciate the danger of these missions you take for us! And congrats on another nice addition to your collection!

Man that’s a looker for sure! Nice playing too! Thanks for posting this mini review!

Thanks everybody. I am really impressed with this Creedy. I like how Gary names his instruments as well as numbering them.
This one is "Afternoon Delight" a.k.a. #64. Some nice details like using the herringbone for binding, then rounding the edge to the backbone of the design, very clever.

Gary Creed is apparently local to the Roanoke, Virginia area. The neighborhood Fret Mill music store currently has a nice tenor on consignment.

What even is a "perfect build." I think a perfect build shows tool marks and the fact it was made by a human. Reminds me greatly of this episode of Pete & Pete I loved as a kid, if you've got 25 minutes

Dang, I think I know what my next uke is gonna be. And Roanoke isn't far from me either!
