I just finished my first batch of ukes. I have made a few over the past couple years, but this time I made 4 together in a batch. As I'm learning, I try to implement something new on each instrument that I'm building. Working on multiple at a time was definitely a learning experience in and of itself.
I think they all turned out well and I'm glad I was able to get through it without mixing anything up. They're ready to make some music just in time for Christmas.
Left to Right
Long Neck Soprano
Maple back and sides. Aromatic Cedar top.
Maple, walnut and cherry neck.
Cocobolo fretboard and bridge.
Surna rosette and headstock accent.
Concert #1
Flowering pear body and neck with walnut accents.
Walnut fretboard and bridge.
This one is for my mother-in-law and the pear wood came from a tree from her backyard. I love being able to use wood that has a connection to the person the instrument is for.
Concert #2
Walnut body, fretboard and bridge.
Fir neck.
Cherry, maple and bloodwood rosette and accents.
Tenor Boat Paddle
Chechen body and headplate.
Cocobolo fretboard and bridge.
Walnut neck.
Wenge rosette and accents.
