I have a G9120-SM which served as my only uke for maybe three years until this summer. The SM stands for "solid mahogany" and this was their flagship model until it was phased out a few years ago in favour of a SK solid koa model. I find its build quality very high, better than that of some $500+ ukuleles, and it just plays great for all styles of music. I have it strung with a low-G (red) Aquila set which gives it a very warm sound that blends in well in acoustic jams and is great to accompany singing. This year I also bought a concert KoAloha and a Kamaka Lili'u, and the Gretsch certainly does not need to take step back to those two.

Thanks for input so far. One more option would be a b-stock Kala KA-KTG Koa Series Tenor for little more than the Kumu. It surely looks very nice.
