This makes total sense, to me. Her teaching style is almost exactly like mine, in our library workshops.
We even check their ukes out for them, to make sure they can be tuned and will stay in tune, action, etc.
I've watched other teachers leave a lot of explanations out, and leave the students in the dust by trying to start them out strumming chords too quickly. No wonder a lot of them quit.
