Aloha folks,

Excited to be helping organize a singer/songwriter showcase for our Big Island talent and beyond. For those of you who happen to be on island for February 22nd, we'll be at the Waimea Coffee Company at 7pm.

The show should be a treat. We're featuring two 'ukulele-centric artists for the debut event, both favs of mine in the local scene.

Here's a little more about it:

The Listening Room brings distraction-free musical appreciation to the intimate space of Waimea Coffee Company. It's an opportunity to connect with the original music of two of the Big Island’s most talented singer/songwriters.

Joey Bradley has opened for Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, and Steel Pulse; recorded with Roots Radix; and won a gold record for recording and songwriting with Ottmar Liebert. Locally, Joey has fronted the funk horn band, Bump City, and currently plays with Richard Russel’s The Castaways.

Higgs is one of the most clever lyricists to be found in Hāmākua and uses an 'ukulele and looper to weave acoustic hip-hop tapestries. His recent single, No Plans, took 1st place at the Hawai’i Songwriting Festival songwriting competition.
$10 cover charge.

Drip coffee and vegan/GF/organic treats will be available along with local artwork by Chelsea Tarnas.

Join us if you can!
