I've started a ukulele blog and written a number of posts. It's two things: a writing exercise and a (hopeful) hub for people who are curious to read about ukes in the same way that I do.
I personally don't like blogs with a lot of images on them, mainly because they draw more attention to you when you're reading them at an office job. Also, maybe more to the point, I feel like there are already plenty of good blogs out there that are full of good photos. So instead I decided to make mine mostly textual. Plenty of links to images and videos, and but none embedded in the blog.
Anyway, here's the latest thing I wrote for it, which is my take on the history of woods used in ukuleles.
