Hello good people of Ukulele Underground. I am a new member and wanted to say Hi and also say Thanks for all the knowledge I gained from this forum in last couple of months.

I recently bought my first vintage ukulele. It is a Martin Soprano from early 20's. It needed some attention such as gluing of a few small cracks on the back, fixing one of the braces, frets leveling and polishing, saddle shaving for better action and (of course) an extensive cleaning. But now that it's all done I can not put it down!

Thank you! It sounds great. I have a limited exposure to ukuleles yet, so my impression is very subjective. But it sounds better to my ear than a few modern Martin Sopranos I tried. And of course it blows out of the water any uke I tried in the local Guitar Center. But what is really interesting is that it has same (if not more) volume as my Mainland tenor, even though it's so much smaller.

Greetings from behind the Cheddar Curtain and welcome aboard!

That's a beaut. The tone of those vintage Martins is something else.

What a great first ukulele! Welcome to the forums.
