bought one of these for a friend. It got here in a week from China.
The banjo has a few weak components which are easily replacable.
I replaced the tail piece with a no-knot and thru away the friction pegs.
I installed a set of Gotoh upt long shaft tuners.
the head tension is not easily adjusted with the 7 hooks but can be done.
A new head would have to be a low crown 8"replacement if wanted...I left the original one one it. The rim is too light. The wood work and frets are very good.
I would recommend this banjo/uke only if you are familiar with banjo set-up. Once set up is done, it is a nice little, light weight, fairly loud player.
After all my criticism...allowing for the price...it's not a bad deal...half the price of a Gold Tone BUT...and about, half as good.
