Yesterday I happened to be in New Canaan and stopped by New Canaan Music. I was impressed to find that they have a nice selection of ukuleles on display. They have a wide range of Kala and Ohana, a few new Martins, some Islanders, a couple of Kanileas, a koa flea, a couple of luthier made instruments and a few assorted others and some beginner level instruments.
In many stores the instrument is often an afterthought and there are often a few cheap instruments sitting gathering dust. These were nicely displayed and most were in tune. This was a very pleasant surprise. Folks who are within reasonable distance looking to try a variety of instruments consider stopping by. While there is a wealth of stuff online, it is so nice to actually get to pick up an instrument and play it.
