Anyone have a concert uke with a Douglas fir top? I was wondering about what you thought of the sound. I heard a tenor one made by Beansprout on you tube and it was a wonderful sound. Warm and yet sharp, clear. Almost between Spruce and Cedar. Looking to hear from people that have experience with the fir on a smaller uke.

I have used both Douglas fir and western hemlock for tops and they both work well. The fir is generally warmer than spruce, but much depends on what you do with it.

I owned a Gary Gill concert scale tenor with a Douglas Fir top, mahogany back & sides. Worth Browns strings. Lovely tone. Mellow & sweet.
