Renaissance wax is good stuff. Not as greasy as some wax and not as hard as Carnuba. Cost is not an issue. The small size can will last you for years. Lots of wood workers use it as their only finish on carvings, etc. You need to sand way up in grit to use it that way. I use it on bridges prior to gluing them on and fretboards prior to fretting. With the wood sanded to 2000 grit, I wipe on 2 coats of 2# shellac, lightly steel wool it mostly off, and then apply the wax. Makes a protective, yet repairable lustrous finish.
