Oh my, that quirky rosette is striking, along with the rest of the detail.

Is it a standard 15 inch scale?
Some brands have slightly longer scales, which would make it even more tempting.

A comparison with the Flight Spirit Concert Ukulele would be super interesting.

It looks like they get their necks/headstocks made the same place. Or perhaps they are all build the same place.

But one says koa, one just Akacia.
One is scaloped, one has a chamfered edge.
So there are a few differences.

I was told by Flight that these are NOT made in the same place.

I looked at this last year on holiday in China. I'm going back in a few weeks so I might pick this one up.

I think there are loads of ukes in multiple variations and prices. Nice if you can get them from China I suppose, but bear in mind that prices naturally increase when a home distributor / dealer / store gets involved. And of course that service is worth a price and rightly so. Particularly the final check over of QC and setup

I totally agree. This particular shop had a workbench and tools in the shop where you could actually watch set-ups. The main problem with buying direct from China is the language issue, and this shop couldn't take payment using an English credit card. I'd always use your main rule Baz - try before you buy whenever possible.
