Yes if you keep them in the pores rather than allowing them to become a surface finish. The fiddle makers call it fat over lean, so soft on top of hard. If you do it the other way (hard on soft) there's a danger of craquelure happening.
Tru oil pore fill?- To my understanding no oil is a pore fill. If you are going to have a no pore fill look on the neck, just spray nitro straight onto the wood (or after a quick seal with shellac)
