FS 2012 Oceana Sinker Redwood/Mahogany Baritone Ukulele

For sale is an outstanding custom Oceana Redwood/Mahogany baritone made by Zac Steimle after moving back from Ecuador to the United States in 2012. It is in excellent condition with no dings, dents, or scratches on the satin lacquer finish. Tight-grained "sinker" redwood is used for the top, while the back, sides, and neck are mahogany with mild-medium figure. The fretboard and bridge are rosewood. There is side soundport for the player to enjoy. The top binding is rosewood with maple purfing, (and rosette is maple with rosewood purfling). The back is unbound. Both the nut and tall saddle are bone. The side and top dots on the fretboard are pearl. It has a 19-7/8" scale length, 1-3/8" nut width, flat-profile fretboard, and slim-C-profile neck shape. The neck is smooth, fast and very comfy, more towards thin than thick. Jake Wildwood set this up to play very easy. The body is 10 3/8" wide and 3 1/4" deep. The geared tuners are original and work fine. A hard case comes with it.

I bought this uke from Jake Wildwood in 2017, who described this instrument as “one of the best baritone ukes I've heard in a long while. It looks great, plays great, and sounds tremendous….it's only once in a blue moon that baritones really excite me.” “when something as nice as this comes out of left field it's a bit jarring.”

I agree with Jake that the voice of this baritone is warm, full and very articulate. Tone/volume balance across the strings is outstanding, clear with good sustain. This is truly a wonderful sounding baritone, but I’ve got about 6 great baritones. So I’ve got to sell one before I change my mind. Trying to reduce my collection.
