All Australian timber in these identical builds except for the sound boards. Curly Australian Blackwood with Gidgee head plate veneers, fret board and bridge. The soundboards are Huon Pine and King Billy Pine. Both from Tasmania.

First up the Huon Pine version.

They are depressingly beautiful Allen.

One of these days I will still not be able to do any instrument justice, but that will stop stopping me seeking you out.
I love following your (and all the talented luthiers') work on here.

Absolutely fantastic

It is taking all my willpower not to buy that Huon pine model.

Beautiful work.

Think I like the KBP a tad better. Is there a tonal difference between these two pines?

What's your scale length for soprano and concert?

These soundboards sound similar but the King Billy PIne leans towards a Western Red Cedar tone, while the Huon is a bit more spurce like.

Soprano scale lenght is 13.75" to give me a 14 fret to body join and concerts are 15" for 12 frets to body, or 16" for 14 frets to body.

Nice Allen-

Here is a sound sample of the Huon Pine soprano.

I saw the video on Vimeo. It’s really beautiful and sounds great.
