A few goodies I ordered for my shop arrived this morning. My Dremel has been showing signs of old age in recent months, and some reviews I've read recently indicate a Black & Decker RTX is a good alternative, so I ordered one along with a Dremel Plunge Router base. I already have a fill size router mounted in a table, as well as a RotoZip, so I didn't want to get anything bigger. Best part is that the tool and base together cost less than a new Dremel.
I plan to use this for light duty stuff like neck carving, reinforcing rod slots, and inlays. While I've been enjoying using hand tools as much as possible lately, there are just some steps that I think are made a lot easier by the right power tool. Beautiful weather here today, so I plan to be outside doing some neck carving.
