Hi there, just wanted to share this prototype of an instrument I built.

I call it the Morande Rambler.

*Note
This instrument is not properly setup with actual nut / saddle, but my main goal the other day was to build something in one day and be able to play it at the end of the day.

13" scale length
Diatonic
3 Stringed (Nylon)

Whole lot of fun, Check back for more.

Build time was around 5 hours (not including waiting for glue to dry.)

Peter, that is cool and impressive!

If you're up for building a second diatonic instrument, build one with four strings, tuned CGcg (or some similar tuning). That enables you to get 2 octaves by cross picking within the first three frets. I have such an instrument (though mine has an extra high fifth string). You can see it at rlgreene.net/instruments/chimera/ if you're interested.
