    Anyone out there happen to know what brand, model and size ukulele Papa Lemon Nash played?

    I found the liner notes for his album once and i think it said that he was playing some type of six string that he had cobbled together. I’m not able to find that info currently...

    Do you know what album the liner note were to? I found these:

    I didn't see any mention of his uke. Also, from what I've heard (and I could be wrong), it doesn't sound like he's playinging a six string instrument.

    I have Papa Lemon Nash New Orleans Ukulele Maestro & Tent Show Troubadour the 1959-61 Oster & Allen Recordings. No mention of what specific instrument is being played. New

    In an article by Seva Venet (see the pdf, page 16) there is a photo of Nash with a tenor ukulele, perhaps some kind of Martin(?).

    Great find! They say there are only two known pictures of Papa Nash. That is definitely a Martin ukulele. My guess is that it is a tenor.

    Thanks to Drbekken for posting the link. Only partly through the article but I think it’s already doubled my knowledge on the subject.

    Wonder how “indigenous” status is determined in context of intermarriage.
