Order placed July 2019.
Will update as the build progresses.............

Stay tuned.

I found a typo in the thread heading......Should read "Ferangeli Guitar"
I hope that this does not affect my chances of being promoted to a Senior Member some day?

Wow. Can't wait to see the progress on your Ukulele. I couldn't find Farengeli but I did visit the Farangeli. If it was them their work looked great although I couldn't figure out how to order one .

In any event welcome to UU

The best way to initiate an order is go to their site and complete and send back the custom build worksheet email link back to them. They are not that prompt to respond so patience is needed on your part. If interested, may I suggest that before you order you may want to follow along to see how they facilitate my build.

May I ask for some help in posting some update photos. I used the insert image link to no avail.

Mahalo Jim!

The best I could do for pics is to provide links using imgur.com as you had suggested, possibly because my OS is Linux Ubutu I not sure.

I contracted for a all local (Philippine) sourced woods for this moderately priced Tenor Uke build which will include:

Solid Gmelina top. Florentine Scoop.
Whitish spruce like colored wood.
A good bass response and a friendly overall tone.
Solid Spalted Mango sides and back.
Figured Mango wood.
Mellow overall tone similar to Koa.
Slotted Headstock.
Ebony Fret board and Bridge.
Bone Nut and Saddle.
Radiused fret board (12")
Beveled armrest.
Embellished with Ebony Binding and white and tan Perfling.
Gloss finish with satin Neck.
Round Abalone Rosette.

Anyway for those that maybe interested, I have posted a link below for the wood that will
be used for the sides and back.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to show you the top.

The builder sent me a sample of the top tone wood today for me to share.
So here it is......

The color appears to be a little on the gray side but usually this wood should look more like spruce.
I will have to find out. Maybe a bad picture.

So sorry this was a typo. Should read Ferangeli Guitars.

The color of the front sample tonewood appears to be gray due to according to the builder bad lighting and use of a cel camera.

A commissioned build takes patience.
Lacquer process is almost complete. The neck is built and the frets are ready to be installed.
The excitement is building.

I did not like how the mustash head stock looked as it appeared to be off balance so I asked for a slight modification. Hopefully you will see and appreciate it in the pics attached. I asked that the left side be modified to be less pronounced which the builder was able to redo. To me it looks better and much more to my liking.

The body lacquer in complete but the head stock continues to require additional lacquer.

Things are back on track.
