    Question Modify or not?

I am new to uke (2 months) but have played classical guitar for over 50 years. One of my inexpensive collection of 3 ukes is an Alvarez Artist Series acacia tenor. Its a nice little uke. I have an OU soprano and a low end but sweet sounding concert. Id like to put bari-tuned tenor strings on the Alvarez tenor but the slotted bridge wont take the G string dimension nor the knot.

Shall I just get another low end tenor with a tie bar bridge or is it worth having the bridge slots and nut filed a bit to take the Fremont Bari-tuned for tenor strings? Budget is the issue.

    Thanks.

So happy this group exists. My Ukes have been no end of joy!!

Hey, its a cheap uke, I'd just drill the G string slot at the top, and make the G a string-thru.

Thank you!! I would never think of doing that to one of my good guitars, but your suggestion is a good solution!
