I am new to uke (2 months) but have played classical guitar for over 50 years. One of my inexpensive collection of 3 ukes is an Alvarez Artist Series acacia tenor. It’s a nice little uke. I have an OU soprano and a low end but sweet sounding concert. I’d like to put bari-tuned tenor strings on the Alvarez tenor but the slotted bridge won’t take the G string dimension nor the knot.
Shall I just get another low end tenor with a tie bar bridge or is it worth having the bridge slots and nut filed a bit to take the Fremont Bari-tuned for tenor strings? Budget is the issue.
Thanks.
So happy this group exists. My Ukes have been no end of joy!!
