I watched an episode of Matlock today where Andy Griffith played a tenor ukulele in the beginning, and an unusual looking resonator ukulele in the end. Does anyone know what maker of ukulele this resonator is?
"This is a tricone ukulele made by National in 1927. Unique and rare design. This was from Andy Griffith's collection, he used to play it once in awhile in the "Matlock" TV series".
I love that movie. I once read that Andy's character Lonesome Rhodes was loosely based on Arthur Godfrey. Andy was a very gifted actor who could play a wide variety of characters. Andy was also a good musician having majored in music in college.Andy also taught music and drama at a North Carolina High School.
As goofy as the movie is, I love "No Time for Sergeants" which shows his versatility.
