The end graft and binding channels were cut. The end graft was installed first, followed by the bindings. The trim, fretboard, and bridge are E. Indian rosewood.

Great process pictures, Brad! The bindings and end graft are making this to be a very handsome instrument! The wood combinations make a lovely contrast. Looking forward to seeing the next stage.

New progress pics, getting close now. Next up, add headstock veneer, tuners, nut and saddle. I usually string an instrument up before finishing just to see if I need to tweak anything.

It is a really beautiful instrument Brad. The koa is exceptionally nice with the curl grain and color. I am not a “small uke” guy, prefer tenors and baritones but I would be thrilled to own this one. Thanks for sharing the build and the pictures, it is always most enjoyable

Thanks guys, this has been a fun project. As mentioned, I have strung it up for a test drive. The luthier’s nightmare is to build a pretty instrument that does not sound/play as good as it looks. No worries there, plenty of punch and the intonation is very good. Now to spray it up.

And here is the finished ukulele. It has been strung up for about ten days now. I have been waiting for the hurricane to get away from the east coast and give the finish plenty of time to cure. Will be shipping it soon.
