This is a National Tenor Guitar that is from the 1930’s. It can be tuned in “Chicago “ like a baritone ukulele, in fifths like a mandolin and in open tuning for people that want to use a slide.
This guitar is a blues cannon. It comes with an original case that is solid though it looks like it went through the war.
$1699 plus shipping obo

Is this the original finish? Thank you.

I don't think so. It might be but the finish looks newer. There are no dents. I've owned several resonator ukes including a John Morton, a Mya-Moe and a cheapie Chinese uke. The benefit of a tenor guitar is steel strings. They make a resonator cone sing much better than nylon.

A little video with me playing (badly) in Baritone ukulele tuning (Chicago) .

That was not played badly. I love the tone of that old guitar....

Interesting sound. Do you know what the width at the nut is?

looking forward to getting to know her better, but for now -
i pressed record and played for a short while.
tuned it to open D and recorded these 5 short pieces end on end.

Jon, we have traded instruments for several years now. I am always amazed that my instruments always sound much better when they half of a world away from me.
Love your new tunes.
