Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a 5 string. I would be grateful on any advice from others who have played a 5 string. I am currently considering a Lanikai, any opinions? Thanks

Ohana makes a 5-string that should be lovely. I just saw that Mim has a few in stock.

I have the Kala 5 String Tenor, the Ohana 5 String Tenor and the Ohana 5 String Concert. The low g string in each is wound. The Kala has the low G on top but he Ohana has the high g first.

I enjoy having access to the low G string and can pluck it separately for notes.

Good luck

I tried the five string and finally decided it wasn't for me (I'm a fingerpicker, not a strummer), but found that Living Waters 5 string set worked much better for me than the wound low g. It felt and sounded more balanced (your mileage may vary).
