Enya Nova U Carbon Travel Ukulele - REVIEWED

I was playing with a transacoustic system last night (not the Enya, but similar) the effects are clear enough, but the volume increase is negligible if there at all. I don't think they are about creating more volume as such, just adding effects to the natural acoustic volume by vibrating the back.

I actually really like the transacoustic system. It does make it a bit louder, but not a ton. That being said, for certain songs it does add some nice effects, and I do like being able to bring it around with a short cable and my pignose for bonfires or any other outdoor shindig. Overall, even with the added electronics, it's still pretty cheap, so I say unless you need to go swimming with it, go for the transacoustic!

I like it. But it’s impossible for it to make it louder. Wider ranging in tone, maybe, but the thing is only resonating the same body. There is no speaker or amplifier inside. It just adds vibration to the same body.

They certainly sound fuller and more interesting though.
