Hello everyone,
I have a Maccaferri Islander which is in beautiful condition but is short of a tuning peg (together with the holding screw). I have the ivory plastic knob and the two washers.
My question is can anyone help me out please or point me in the right direction. I am really quite desperate to get this lovely uke into full playing condition.

I tend to replace tuning pegs with geared tuners like Gotoh.
But it might be cheaper to simply get an entire ukulele off of eBay.
Search there for "Maccaferri Islander" and see if any are the same as yours.

Islanders sell for more than it would be worth. I need to repair mine, and these things come up now and again. Someone on here had two for sale a couple of years ago. I don't like geared tuners, and the Islander uses a very narrow tuner which is impossible to replace with anything modern. Thank you for your interest.

Waverly friction tuners have a 4.06mm dia. post. Would they work for your Islander?
