Posting a link to a song

I want to record a Christmas song somewhere and be able to email friends and family a link to go hear it. The problem is twofold. I have no idea what to use and only have a iPad and iPhone to do it with. Any suggestions?

If you have (or sign up for) a cloud storage account such as Dropbox then you can share links to files stored there, including most music formats. Obviously saving the file as a common format such as MP3 makes it most likely that all of the recipients can play it without issue.

I can't help on specific software for recording with iOS devices unfortunately, but there are plenty of free apps available.

Many people make good videos with the iPhone and iPad. There are lots of free storage areas you can use, like DropBox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive. You click on the Share icon, get a link, and send it to whomever you want.

You might try using GarageBand to record. It works pretty well.
