I recently heard this Carole King/Gerry Goffin song walking past a Jazz club in downtown Ann Arbor. I’ve known the tune since it’s debut in 1967 but that evening the chord progression and the Jazzy waltz feel really hit me and I thought “perfect uke tune.”
I’m playing my 2006 Talsma tenor uke (low g), sinker-redwood top, Koa sides and back. The uke is strung with Seaguar Blue Label fluorocarbon fishing line (recipe below).
Please listen through headphones for the true nautical effect.
String recipe:
4th - Low G. D’Addario classical guitar D string
3rd - Seaguar 60 lb - .029
2nd - Seaguar 50 lb - .026
1st - Seaguar 40 lb - .022
