Wow. Been around the bush a bit with ukes over the years, and I just consistently find myself rockin' a soprano.

Can't help it. To me, the best,

Anyone else like this?

I ask since it seems as though the Experienced Players end up with tenors.

I should update though as I've actually been playing my baritone a lot lately (to the point I'm looking at classical guitars). That uke mostly sat in its case for a year before I really got into it. Other than the bari, I only have sopranos, although I might get another long neck sop someday.
 
Sopranos all the way, for me. I've tried all sizes, but the sop. is a perfect fit for me.

When I started out, I found concert scale best for me, so I have a couple of long necks for when I want a soprano type sound, plus a tenor scaled soprano that gives more sustain. My ukes of choice tend to be either my long neck concert, (tenor scaled concert), or my soprano long necks.
I just find the actual soprano scale too small for me, I'd love to try a sopranissimo, but doubt that it would work for me either. :)
 
Love playing my old Martin, but mainplayer is a concert.
 
I love the soprano sound, but prefer the slightly roomier concert scale. My concert Flea sounds rather sop-like, plus it fits in sop cases and gig bags, so it gets most all the travel duty, and reentrant sop-sounding assignments. Even so, I'll always have at least one sop in my collection for the unique sound.

Since getting a Martin 5K soprano, I don’t play anything else
 
I love my Martin S-0, with "A D F# B" tuning! Something special about that little guy! I totally respect other size and tuning preferences! But I really enjoy the challenge of developing nice-sounding arrangements of my old favorite tunes, relying on nothing but that little soprano uke and my voice! The raw simplicity has great appeal, especially after spending so many years playing electric guitar and hauling tons of gear around!
 
Yes, I'm still strumming sopranos. I've tried other sizes, but nothing else feels 'right'. I prefer ADF#B tuning too, partly because that's what I started learning years ago, but also because it just sounds happier than GCEA.

Yep, I thought it a really good thread too. I love the Soprano size, it has it’s weaknesses but it also has so much that’s good about it too. Some folk do like to use the ‘D’ tuning on them and the smaller bodied ones might work better that way for some music; personally I prefer ‘C’ tuning and want my Sopranos to have a large sound box for a fuller and less cutting sound, YMMV.

I don’t think that John Bianchi is active here any more, shame :( , but I’ve always thought that his Vita playing gives good examples of the Soprano at its best. From his video stream I see that, many years on from the first video, he still uses his Ohana Vita - I estimate that John has had that Soprano for eight years, he could play anything else so one might guess that he really likes it.

It’s interesting that John appears to choose Soprano; for some of what the group do guitars and larger uke’s are used but (from what I see) not by John. My collection of ukuleles consists of one each of soprano, concert, and tenor. It took a while to find a soprano ukulele that I liked the sound of, and I finally settled on a 1925 Martin 2K.

I love my sopranos the most.
 
Sopranos all the way, baby. I'm somewhat of a traditionalist so the soprano is my go to uke size every time. Honestly, I can't even play anything larger than a concert without having to seriously adjust to the bigger size. Also, I very much like the soprano tone as well. If I ever decide to get a different uke I'll go for something completely different like a baritone.
 
I love my sopranos. Have never seriously thought about the larger size ukes.

I love my soprano ukuleles. I learn a lot on my tenor, and when I get decent at it I move to the soprano. Soprano feels like the size for playing fast and tight while still keeping it loose.
 
To me, the thing is the sound.

Sure you can't play big-time up the neck. But the sound's the cookie.
