    A comic and musical genius.

The story of how The Rutles came to be would have been a great short story. But it's true.

Was he a member of The Ukulele Underground Forum?

Either way, may he rest in peace.

Don’t think so. I guess you could say he was an unofficial member of Monty Python. Wrote a lot of the songs they did. The Ballad of Brave Sir Robin still cracks me up every time!

I just love (loved?) his sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to sound like the Beatles. Check out his protest song on "Rutland Weekend Television" on Youtube.

"I've suffered for my music. Now it's your turn."

Thanks for the news guys. Godspeed Neil.
He certainly was an important contributor to the entertainment world.

His music was humorous and fun to sing. He was a very good performer. It's very satisfying to know that he was regarded as a very nice, kind and warm human being. A good friend and family man. What better epitaph?

It seems he went in a way most of us would want when our time comes.

    May he rest in peace.
