365 Days - 365 Songs Challenge

Daar in dat kleine café aan de haven, written by Vader Abraham!
Yes, maybe I'll learn this one for Carnival. Not one of my favourites, but I do remember it from my childhood. It was covered a few times in Dutch and obviously many other languages.

Yes Ms Bean, this cover was interpreted in German by a very famous actor and singer, Peter Alexander. Everyone in Germany knows this version even today.

Today is day 50 of my challenge, hurray!
Therefore I do dedicate my song today to all those, who aggrieve others in the anonymity of the internet by giving „thumbs down“...

- It is not easy to easy to be a Clown -

This is a song from 1983, written and interpreted by a fantastic Travesty duo „Mary & Gordy“

Whoever is smiling all the time is not believed
that he can cry too.
And when his heart almost breaks,
you don't see it in him.
And you expect from me
just fun and beautiful appearance...
it is not easy to be a clown.

Whoever is smiling all the time is not forgiven
that he cries too.
The way you scold the weather
when the sun doesn't shine
Everyone rightly wants me
a smile would be small too.
It's not easy to be a clown.

(I hope, my translation is good enough to understand the meaning of the lyrics, maybe some one helps me to find the right words in English ...)

A worthy dedication for day 52. I sincerely hope, though, that we soon can respect each other and alternative values without feeling threatened by people who hold different beliefs.
