Friends on uu living in different continent

I've developed a few on-line friends through this very friendly forum, such as John from Japan, Dave from UK, and Rainer from Switzerland. On a business trip to Europe about a year ago, Rainer and I arranged to get together and jam. He probably has the best collections of ukuleles of anyone. He is also an incredible musician!

We are blessed to have this forum. Thank you Ukulele Underground and the moderators too! Our lives have been enriched because of you.

I remember when you visited Rainer. He had a good time.
He came to my hotel in Zurich with his fancy MB uke. What did I bring ? My Risa stick. It was not a fair show and tell.
We talked for a very long time like old friends. The hotel was very kind to let us use the dining room when it was obviously closed for the evening.
I also met Lenny Rapp (rappsy) in Florida. He picked me up at the Miami Cruiseship terminal!
Dr Joseph Li ( Lapyang - screen name) when he visited TORONTO. It turned out we were somewhat related !

What a great collaboration across all borders!

This is such an amazing forum, bringing together people from all over the world. Despite living in quite a remote spot (when in comes to ukuleles), I made some amazing friends here. Some turned out to live right around the corner, others on different continents. All the more exciting it was to meet some of you in person, such as Luke (lfoo) or Brenda (solorule) who both visited me on their journeys to Europe. Hope to meet you again someday...

What a great idea! Well done! I think you started something really cool. Might be fun to get one person each from a bunch of different countries, sort of a We Are The World Thing like thing. Of course, I pity whoever volunteers to do all the editing, LOL.

I've developed online friends with a lot of nice people through here, from across the US and Hawaii, to Canada, to across the pond to Europe to way Down Under. This is generally a very welcoming and warm environment here on UU and I hope it stays that way.

May everyone have a wonderful 2020, filled with health, happiness and joy through music!

That's a great idea Eddie ~
