This is kind of cool: LED strips that show where to finger songs, chords, and scales. Fits concerts or tenors and can come installed on a Kala.

Big problem for me is that it requires watching the fretboard. Might be better for playing lap style than for playing traditionally. I’m also at the point where my problems are less knowing where to place my fingers than getting them to the right place in time.

And the original name—Fret Zeppelin—was better. I suspect Mr. Cease and Mr. Desist are to blame for that one

I have a lot to say about this. None of which is probably appreciated. So I will just point out some simple math.

$140 will buy you:

-Two to four (or more) private lessons from any number of great teachers
-Six month membership at UU+
-More than a year membership at Ukulele Way

Suffice to say, if you want to pay money to improve, there are more personal and more musical experiences to be had.

I am intrigued with gadgetry. I appreciate the thought of offering something nee. But.... nothing beats practicing, going over chords again and again, doing finger exercises. I really don't think there are any short cuts to this music learning business
