I suppose that playing an instrument you built yourself makes for a stronger emotional bond and helps with motivation, hopefully.

I'm glad to be here. After I built my instrument I have more motivation to play it. I like to experiment too 
The good thing about an electric ukulele is that I can play it with my headphones without exposing my family members to my learning steps.
