    Default A passing noted

On Saturday, Feb 1st, there was a special announcement on the WMNF radio show, Acoustic Peace Club.
My friend Charlie Jirousek, long time folk singer/guitarist/luthier passed away after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
I was one of a handfull of guests to his home that got to see some of the many guitars in his private stash.
Charlie also built a few ukes, and did repair for Augustino LoPrinzi.
The home was a veritable stringed instrument museum.
I will really miss him, his songs, and his stories.

It’s always sad to lose a friend, but especially a musical one. We miss the richness they brought to our own lives, and our world becomes just a little bit quieter without them. May your memories of Charlie keep him alive in your heart and mind, Nickie.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your friend lives on in the joy he brought to others with his instruments, his stories, and his friendship.
