howdy folks,

welcome to the new season.
not being a particularly decisive person, i found it difficult to settle on a single theme for the week. so you have four categories to graze around:

ORIGINAL
write and record a new original song or instrumental.
no thematic or stylistic boundaries.
simply whatever is in your heart and hands.

FAVOURITE
Richard Buckner and John Darnielle (from the Mountain Goats)
are the two songwriters who have influenced my own music more than any others.
record a song written by either one.

COUNTRY
in 2001 i bought a live album recorded one night in 1995 by three lifelong friends: "Together at the Bluebird Café"
record a cover of any song written by Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle or Guy Clark.

SHORTS
write or cover any song provided it is 1 minute or less.
consider it pt 2 of season 336.

usual start and finish times apply.
a small gift to my favourite performance in each category.
have a ball y'all. :)

I so miss my favourite original pair of country shorts. I wore them for years!

Looking forward to a great week.

I've had a last minute inspiration for a Rain song... but I told work I'd come in on my last day of vacation.... Ugg... decisions.

i miss mine too brother. they were tartan; blue, white and yellow.
you still got a day and a bit to do the rain song. :)

I like all your options Jonno! Been a while since I did an original. So here's one.Baritone with tuning DGBD.

As luck would have it this one comes in at just under a minute without really missing any parts out, I just did the verse once.

brilliant beginning to the week courtesy of the early shift.
4 gold nuggets above me.
thank you lads.

This little KoAloha soprano got some nice comments here when it went on holiday with me last week. It was one of the first ukes I bought, but when I moved to concert size, it stayed mostly in its case. I just looked inside it, and this month is its 10th birthday, so it deserves another run out.
Here's one of my favourite Steve Earle songs.

by the way folks, there's no song limit.
just keep playing, k.

Here is one in the short category, this is called MLK by U2. We used to play this with the band, and people where always surprised it had ended already.

So many ways to go this week! Thanks for hosting Jon ~

wow you guys. loving the songs you've brought so far.
particularly the originals. amazing stuff.
if you wanna feel something that means something, please don't miss
Graham's instrumental, John's original and Brian's song directly above. stunning, all three
and which is not to undermine the other songs recorded -
from Rob, Wim and Steve - superb.
cheers fellas. looking forward to a super week of music.

a quick by the way:
i just received an email from a fellow seasonista,
saying that the "playlist" link is not working for them.
would someone please click on it and check to confirm? thanks.

apropos of nothing, Aaron and Nicole just uploaded this.
thought some of you might feel for it. :)
