The Muppets, Mr. Rodgers, Spongebob Squarepants, Disney are all sources for songs that kids, Millennials and older adults have grown up with.
Strangely enough, Classic Rock is also very popular amongst high school and college crowds. They grew up listening to their parents playing the music and enjoy it themselves.

Unicorn and a couple of others I can't think of right now, by Shel Silverstein. (A lot of kids and young adults grew up with his books.)
Campfire songs.
Bruno Mars, Adele, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, all have very singable songs.
