Very interesting... I just use masking tape though... Perhaps sometime you could show us how you route out the channels which is the harder operation for me. If you already did show us, nevermind.

I made a binding channel router set up 7 years ago ..I made it from a spare plasma TV swivel bracket and some old brass snare drum fittings...the router is a Kress spindle grinder, that is a great power tool....here is a video I made at the time....don’t forget to turn the music down :)
