i just tried the LAVA U ..and they sound amazing and the price is extremely value for money...
The Lava U is available with a preamp system and FreeBoost technology. This technology slightly amplifies the sound right on the body of the uke and also adds reverb, chorus, and delay with the option to upgrade the effects via a firmware update. This gives me the ability to dial-in an acoustic sound that you like thanks to both onboard transducer AND mic, along with reverb, delay, and chorus that comes across acoustically. ....and the uke can be plugged in to an amp like any traditional acoustic/electric. And The system recharges via USB.
And The Lava U sports a one-piece body constructed of the company’s AirSonic carbon fiber, a low-density, high stiffness material that Lava touts as highly resistant against extreme changing of temperature and humidity.
