Hi,
I've been playing guitar for 2 1/2 years now. One year on classical and the rest on a parlor acoustic. Embarrassingly I havent really learned to strum yet, I much prefer fingerpicking (folk, singer songwriter stuff from the 60s)
I've discovered recently that my singing suits better the old jazz standards (cheek to cheek, summertime etc) and some crooner songs but I havent a clue about all those jazz chords!!
Have started learning them with an online guitar course but its obvious its going to take me another year at least before I can comp with myself to any reasonable level on guitar.
Then I got thinking about the ukulele. Would it be easier to play the jazz standards on Ukulele rather than guitar?
I do intend to learn to play a bit of jazz guitar but I would really like to start comping with the songs I'm learning sooner rather than later.
Also I have a high soprano voice and I suspect the Ukulele might well suit my style of singing.
Many thanks for your advise
