So, I decided while in lockdown that I was going to learn the piano and guitar.

Walked into a music shop, bought my keyboard (which remains untouched) and saw the cutest ukulele. Started nosing around and found a Cordoba 15cm which arrived 10 days ago. Barely put it down. Not sure what happened but am very happy with my choice.

So much fun and now I can't feel my fingertips on my fretting hand which I think is a good thing! I am already looking at different sizes and alternate tunings (not for the Cordoba) for smaller instruments assuming the post ever gets remotely back to normal. I don't think we have a ukulele shop in my state (no uke specialist shops for thousands of miles) and not enjoying buying online.

Welcome! Are you in Perth?

Welcome CGiblet!
You've caught the uke bug!

Yes, lots of music shops have them but I would LOVE to spend some time in a specialist uke shop like World of Ukes, Southern Ukes or Mims Ukes in the US. So many pretties out there. Looking forward to being able to visit a couple of the groups.

Welcome from halfway round the world!

Relieved to hear I am not the only one with fingertip weirdness!

Welcome CGiblet! To the ukulele and the Forum.

Have fun with both.
