This ukulele has been out for a long time, is still available, costs more today, and hasn’t changed (although they may ship with different strings these days). I have wanted one of these for a long time—for the looks, fully aware of the issues with the sound. One came up on the UU marketplace, and I was able to buy it.

Barry Maz reviewed this model years ago, and didn’t like it very much (for good reason) and fans of the instrument (or Les Paul, or ukuleles that look like guitars) really barked back. For an instrument that has been around so long, I doubt my reviews will result in much debate. But as an acoustic ukulele, it’s dreadful...worse than a Hola Beach ukulele that I reviewed (student purchase). My thought: if the acoustic aspect isn’t important, it should have been a solid body from the start.

Still, I love the way it looks, and I’m keeping this one. We’re all entitled to like what we like, even if it means a bad ukulele. But don’t ever pay $149 for one of these, and it’s inexcusable that they have failed to update the design to be a better acoustic ukulele—all they need to do is contact Enya, who has seemed to figure out a way to make a much better instrument with a similar body style...with the embedded acoustic plus effects...

This was my first uke, and despite its fatal flaws, I still love it, and would never part with it. Changed the strings to Martin clears, not that it made much difference. Btw, even amplified it sounds dreadful...
